Hi I’m Dr. Erica Peabody! I was born and raised here in Fenton, MI with three brothers whom all currently reside in the area with their families. I come from a very, very large extended family that have been Fenton area residents for well over half a century! So, YES, the other Peabody business around the area are related to me!
I am a Fenton High School graduate, and scooted off to Michigan State University for my freshman year in college. During my second semester at MSU, I woke up at 2AM out of a dream and decided to pursue a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree.
I worked hard towards a Bachelor of Natural Science at Michigan State University, Boise State University, and graduated, with Cum Laude honors in May 2001, from University of Alaska Anchorage where I lived for three years.
I began Chiropractic College at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated, with Magna Cum Laude honors, from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2004. After ten years of schooling, I decided to return home and opened my practice, Café of LIFE Chiropractic, on March 12, 2005.
Over and above my Doctor of Chiropractic coursework, I have completed numerous courses to offer the premier care for prenatal/postpartum patients, as well as, infants and children. I have the proud reputation for being the “go-to” place for pediatric chiropractic care and prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care. I have a specialty certification in the Webster Technique and is highly sought after by midwives, doulas and other birth practitioners in the area to co-manage care for local expecting mothers. I am a very active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. I am also a proud and active member in the Michigan Association of Chiropractors and the International Chiropractic Association.
“Does your current chiropractor even workout?” I have been in the fitness industry for decades and have completed 200 hour yoga teacher training. I am currently pursuing an additional 300 hour yoga teacher training certification, to get the 500 hour designation, and have been a presenter at local yoga studios and festivals over the years.
When I am not helping people in her office and managing the Peabody Center for Well-Being, I am usually spending time on adventures with her Bernedoodle, Louis, who is the therapy dog you will meet at the office or my little Maltipoo, Tater Tot “Tate”. She can often be found at the local gym, yoga studio, surfing, running, reading, writing (blogging), biking or spending time with family. I am an avid snowboarder and spend the winter weekends on the slopes as much as possible. Aside from being a chiropractor, one of my most favorite roles in life is being “Aunt E” to her handful of nieces and nephews whom all reside in the Fenton area.
